Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Gonzalo Pérez Marc

He is a Doctor in Medicine (UBA), Pediatrician, Specialist in Sports Medicine, Specialist in Clinical Pharmacological Research, Philosopher (UBA), Master in Bioethics (FLACSO) and in Health Economics and Management (UAI), Chemical Technician (IH), as well as Associate Professor at the School of Medicine of the UBA.

Among other institutions, he taught at UBA, UCA, ISALUD, UNSAM and Maimonides University. He completed the Advanced Vaccine Course (ADVAC) at Fondation Merieux in France. He is an expert in clinical research, research methodology, vaccines, bioethics and medical humanities in several scientific discussion committees.

Former Deputy Medical Director and current Chief of Teaching and Research of the Maternal and Infant Unit of the Central Military Hospital. He currently serves as General Director of Equipo Ciencia. He directed the Phase III clinical trial of the COVID-19 vaccines of Pfizer and Medicago Laboratories and was the General Director of the Phase III trials of the ARVAC-Cecilia Grierson vaccine. He was also Principal Investigator of the Phase III studies of Moderna and Pfizer's Respiratory Syncytial Virus vaccines, Moderna's Influenza vaccine and the INFANT Foundation's convalescent plasma study. He has directed as Principal Investigator more than 20 studies in more than 10 medical specialties and in which more than 27,000 participants have been enrolled, including pregnant women and newborns, as well as children, adolescents and adults between 18 and 85 years of age.

Honorary Director

Dr. Fernando P. Polack

He is a pediatric infectious disease physician, graduated with honors from the School of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires in 1990. He was a resident in Pediatrics at the French Hospital in Buenos Aires and continued his professional training in the United States, where he was a resident in Pediatrics at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. After 15 years as a professor at Johns Hopkins and Vanderbilt University in the United States, he returned to the country to create the INFANT Foundation and contribute to the development of science. In addition to being director of the Foundation, he published more than 130 manuscripts in high impact journals: ten of them in the New England Journal of Medicine, eight in Lancet and five in Nature Med, among others.

Spearheaded as first author the manuscript demonstrating the utility of Pfizer's coronavirus mRNA vaccine in the NEJM in 2020. He received recognitions from prestigious institutions, including the Young Investigator Award and the E. Mead Johnson Award for excellence in pediatric research from the Society for Pediatric Research in the United States. He was declared Outstanding Personality of the Sciences by the City of Buenos Aires.

Romina Libster

Director of Strategic Operations and Technology

She is a pediatrician and expert in vaccines and respiratory viruses. Professor at Vanderbilt University, she led studies on H1N1 and COVID-19. Member of the Society for Pediatric Research, she collaborates with WHO and other institutions in global health strategies.

Silvina Coviello

Administrative Director

She is a clinical biochemist with more than 15 years of experience in respiratory infections and clinical studies. She coordinated the Pediatric Clinical Research Program in Argentina and led regulatory affairs at INFANT Foundation. Since 2020, she is administrative director at Equipo Ciencia.
